ROBBO
is Robb Zelonky, a writer and performer of original
songs for children.
ROBBO
has been teaching music at schools and camps ever since
he was a kid himself.

One day while teaching in school, a student of
ROBBO's
expressed frustration at the difficulties he was having
with a bully named Jimmy.
ROBBO improvised a
song about a bully who 'learns his lesson' and called it
"Jimmy
Knucklesandwich",
and two more songs: "Sticks
and Stones", which
is about respecting others; and
"Homework."
The students were so enthusiastic in their response that
ROBBO
realized he had indeed found his happy calling in life -
writing songs for kids.
Today,
ROBBO
has become one of the most sought after children's
performers in America! He has sung all over the
country, from the White House Easter Egg Hunt in
Washington DC to the Cincinnati Folk Festival where he
co-headlined with fold legend, Arlo Guthrie. In
total,
ROBBO
has performed in over 70 cities across America.
Imagination and humor run rampant throughout a
ROBBO
concert! Kids are encouraged to become friends
with the "Giant In My Closet," and to fly like the all
powerful superhero,
Blanket Kid! They
might participate with
ROBBO in a song about a
game of
"Peek-a-Boo"
or the great taste of "Marshmallows."
And
ROBBO
finds whimsy in some unlikely circumstances, like a
broken arm in the swinging
"Owie
Zowie Kablowie,"
or in going to the doctor with "The
Shot Blues."
He tangos to the annoying task of cleaning up a messy
bedroom in
"Blow Your Nose."
(You've got to hear it to believe it!) And he does
a pretty awesome Elvis when he sings "Don't
Wanna Share My Toys!"
In short, whether he is actively engaging the children
with his 'silly' songs (as in
Sammy Slippery Slither)
or gently teaching them lessons about life (as in
It's Only a Dream),
ROBBO's
music is always fun and entertaining, with just a dash
of learning too! |
